A Legacy gone Wrong?

What is a fanfiction?
It's usually a piece of writing someone wrote that is based off their favorite show/game/movie/book, etc.

What is a fantasy?
It's usually a daydream someone has in their heads about themselves being in their favorite show/game/movie/book, etc.

What if they came together?
The result is this.

Back in 2003, there was a rule on Fanfiction.net that stopped all Reader-Inserts and CYOAS (Choose your own adventure stories). Many (mostly fangirls) were infuriated with the new rule and were forced to flock somewhere where they could host their horribly written, and often erotic stories of the Reader being paired up with a Character in the fandom they chose to write about.
I.e. Reader / Sailor Moon

Of course most stories that were written as ReaderxAnyone were mostly female based. Or, the reader was meant to be a female, and the character they were paired up with was a male.
I used to go to Fanfiction to read stories of my favorite shows and video games. When I saw these types of stories, I was shocked. Not only were they terribly written, they recieved even more reviews from random fangirls than the normal fanfiction that were actually written rather well. I for one, was glad they removed them from FF.net.

Once they passed the rule from FF.net, all the Reader-Insert writers migrated to Mediaminer or other small and unknown fanfiction archives that were virgin from stories labeled 'CYOA'.
Then, they were shooed from Mediaminer, the major archive for anime at the time.

Now, they moved from Freedom of Speech.
And so the legacy of clean and awesome fanfiction went terribly wrong.

The Worst Argument

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/233136/world_of_warcraft_avoiding_addiction.html

This piece of shit someone calls an essay and argument actually rivals with Tyra Bank's bitchy show.

--

You know, it really ticks me off when people talk bad about things they don't know themselves. They make assumptions off what other people have said, and you never even know if they're telling the truth themselves. I won't say I haven't made accusations, because I have, and everytime I've been proven wrong, I say it. I don't keep continuing my false argument, whether I like it or not. Whether I won, or lost, I accept it. Maybe not with the most calmity, but I take in my defeat.

Addiction:The state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma. (Copyright Dictionary.com)

What a knee-slapper that essay was, don't you agree? Of course! Playing a game such as World of Warcraft is just as bad as taking crack, cocaine and marijuana!

"World of Warcraft seems harmless at first, after all, millions of people of all ages play it, so it can't be that bad, can it? Well, considering millions of people shoot up heroin too, not everything people do is in your best interest."

Ahaha, that was so funny I forgot to laugh.First of all, Heroin and World of Warcraft are two different things. Don't even start comparing the two.I've seen documentaries and vidoes of people who've become addicted to heroin. It's not a laughing matter, it's serious and often quite sad.

Becoming addicted to World of Warcraft is pure choice. It's up to the user how they spend their time playing the game. Just because you threw everything away for a simple game, doesn't mean everyone else out there is a hapless player like you were, or still probably are.

Being a player of World of Warcraft, I personally don't get that much homework, and I'm a lazy person in nature. I will wash my clothes, pick up my dog's buisness and do my homework or other assignments. The only reason I continue playing is because it's fun. It passes the time. I don't think about it as a job or a mandatory part of my life. People might think I'm addicted, and maybe I am, but at least I can stop when people ask me to. I put my life before WoW.

Alright, and he addresses the issue of having to pay for WoW on a monthly basis.First of all, why'd you buy it if you were short on money? Your bills, food and other nessicities come before a game. Any loser off the streets (except drug addicts) would know that simple fact.
If you were a college student, it's up to you whether you would want to spend 15$ a month to play WoW during free time, or about 70$ a month going to the movies, shopping, eating out and doing other things.

My Pitiful Review for The Host

Up until now, I’ve seen few horror movies that barely caught my interest. The films I have seen are always focused on the blood and gore rather than the plot itself, and even if they focus on the plot, it’s usually a whacked up story. The only enjoyable mystery/horror movie I’ve seen was ‘7’, up until now.
The Host was a truly enjoyable movie, and unlike another Asian film ‘Seven Samurai’, the character’s emotion didn’t overwhelm me. In fact, they were too emotional, crying out and screeching like harpies. Everything that was nothing important, they turned into something drastic. In ‘The Host’, the characters seemed entirely realistic such as here in modern times. The different points of views were also interesting because the movie was shown in all the character’s situations. Such as the uncle finding his niece’s location, yet he was set up to be trapped for a reward.
The graphics they used for the monster was awesome as well. It looked like something you’d expect to find in a nightmare, yet there it is, lurking in your city’s river.
It was slimy, gargantuan, and terrifying or in other words, everything that makes a monster a monster. It was truly the creation that we humans and our chemical concoctions made.
The story line that they used and the details to support it almost actually made sense to me, as if it could happen in real life, which scares me. In other horror films, there is rarely a chance that an evil doll will come to life because he was possessed by a killer and start murdering everyone. Sure, I was scared during the blood and mayhem, but afterwards, I could sleep peacefully. After seeing The Host, I’m probably never going to go near a river or a lake or any large body of water again without visibly shaking in fear.
I also loved the type of ending; satisfying. Although the father’s daughter was killed, the little boy that she was surviving with was adopted by him, so it was as if he could continue living as a father. It was heartwarming and instead of being like some horror films, where they leave the ending up to the viewer, they show you that the character’s will live in peace, even after what had happened.
